A Guide to Lugo
The beautiful town of Lugo is located between the cities of La Coruna and Asturias. The city has been the centre of many myths and legends throughout history. The town throughout history was a stop off place for Christians making pilgrimages to Santiago de Compostela. Today the town is a quiet, affluent city with excellent shops and perfect for a relaxing holiday with retail therapy.
There is also the beautiful architectural quarter of the city. In the quarter there is the stunning 12th Century Cathedral though there have been many refurbishments over the years. There is also the individual museum with its unique exhibit of Celtic and Roman artefacts as well as exhibits charting the rise of the town and the history of the area. There is beautiful countryside in the surrounding area perfect for taking long walks and hiking. Thought the town is unlikely to be drawing in too many tourists it is a perfect place to stop for lunch and an afternoon’s exploration.
