A Guide to Bilbao

Located in the region of Vizcaya it is also the largest city in the area. The most famous attraction in the city is the fantastic Guggenheim Museum which contains fantastic collections and exhibitions of pieces of art works and sculptures. Probably the most famous sculpture is that of the Dog Puppy by Jeff Koons, which stands just outside of the museum. The museum also provides an opportunity for people to practice their own artistic abilities.

The historic centre is another area which must be visited not only because of the fantastic architectural site that are on offer but also for those who have a pendant for shopping as the shopping district is located in the historic centre. One of the most beautiful buildings in the city is the Catedral de Santiago and was the destination for many pilgrimages to the area.

The city also has a fantastic soccer side which consistently does well in the Spanish League and they play an exciting brand of attacking football which will keep all sports fans glued to the very end and is a perfect way to experience the town atmosphere. The surrounding area is beautiful scenery and perfect for taking long walks and hiking. Bilbao is a wonderful city full of areas and sites to explore and is ready to welcome all visitors.
