A Guide to La Coruna

The name of the city of La Coruna comes from its region aptly named A Coruna. The spelling of the region differs between English and Spanish. The city is located in the north west of the country in the region of Galicia. The town is famous for being a lively port containing many large cargo ships and is a major fishing port. There is a fantastic marina where boat trips can be organised around the coast. There are some wonderful white sandy beaches with beautiful views out over the Atlantic Ocean.

The best are thought to be either Riazor beach or the more people prefer Santa Cristina. For those who enjoy finding out about the history of the town there is the stunning Old town which contains the beautiful churches and mansions of the city. There are many restaurants and bars in the city, which all serve delicious regional cuisine and are ready to cater for your every need. The bars and clubs are perfect for those who like to party and go on long into the night. The city of La Coruna is a tourist city perfect for a holiday.
