Spain Castile-Leon

A Guide to Burgos

The city of Burgos is located on the Arlanzon river which dissects the city in two. The city became a prosperous and powerful city in the Middle Ages. There are many sites to see in the old Medieval quarter such as the Mudjar Arch of San Sebastian as well as The Church of san Sebastian. There are also a number of museums in the city which chart the rise of the region and the history of the city.

The area surrounding the city is also stunning and a short distance from the world heritage site of the prehistoric site of Atapuerca. The scenery in this area is stunning and is perfect for those who enjoy taking long walks and hiking. This is a perfect place to come while in the area for a relaxing getaway and not have to worry about the hustle and bustle of the city.
