A Guide to Toledo

Officially granted the status of Heritage of Mankind by UNESCO in 1987 the city of Toledo is one of the richest and has one of the finest cultural heritages in the country. Situated near the river Tagus the city has one of the most beautiful surroundings to match its urban beauty.

The city is recognisable due to its winding, narrow streets and there are stunning churches, stone houses and fantastic museums, which chart the rise of the area and the history of the city. The scenery around the area is wonderful with beautiful mountains and flowing rivers perfect for those who enjoy taking long walks and hiking. Toledo is a city which is often over shadowed by nearby Madrid but cannot be ignored and is a small quaint city perfect for getting away from the hustle of the city.
