A Guide to Jaca

Known as the Pearl of the Pyrenees and is one of the stop over points along the Camino de Santiago, the route of the pilgrimage to Santiago de Composetla. The main site in the city is the magnificent 16th Century Citadel and was soon declared a National Monument as was the stunning Romanesque Cathedral.

There are many other churches and buildings in the city including the 15th Century Torre del Reloj and the City Hall. If you are fortunate to be in the city on the first Friday of May then you will be treated to a fantastic display commemorating the Medieval times with many activities such as jousting, as well as the javelin amongst others. Jaca is a beautiful place to come and visit and this is emphasised by the two annual pilgrimages to the city on the 25th of June and July.
