A Guide to Cambrai

The town of Cambrai dates back to the 1300’s and has been historically a textile town. It is situated in some of the richest and fertile farmland growing sugar beet and other cereals. There are many pieces of architecture still remain after much of the towns architecture was destroyed during the bombings and occupation during the Second World War. Some of the more beautiful areas of the city include the Pont de Paris and Cambrai’s Cathedral Notre Dame.

The town also has fantastic surroundings, which are perfect for taking long walks amid some beautiful scenery and fresh air. The town also has a long history including a famous victory in the First World War and is a perfect place to experience the French countryside and escape the hustle and bustle of the major cities.
