  • Throughout history France has been known as a centre of art, music and culture. With fantastic art galleries including the famous Louvre, the country boasts some of the most renowned art work in the world including the world famous portrait of the Mona Lisa, by Leonardo da Vinci.

  • The country has produced some of the greatest artists on record including the world famous Claude Monet, and many of the other Impressionists as well as famous sculptors such as Rodin. It also attracts many of artists from around the world including Van Gogh, da Vinci and Picasso amongst others.

  • The religion in France is predominantly Roman Catholic and this is evident in the many churches which can be found all over the country. There are some Protestant elements in the country and these can be found mainly in the south of the country but most of the Protestants (or Huguenots) as they were known were driven out by Louis XIV. The country now is more accommodating as it is home to many different races and religions.

  • French cuisine is world renowned as some of the best food in the world. Many have said it has been a major influence in shaping the way in which food in Western Europe has developed.

  • Some of the main exports in France include the delicious ranges of cheese and the many varieties of wines and champagne in the country.

  • France is one of the best places to hold a wedding whether it is in the stunning Loire Valley, the beautiful capital or in the star studded celebrity destination of the Cote D'Azur. It has also become the fashion of the top celebrities to get married in France especially in Paris which is known as the romance capital of the world.
