A Guide to Blois
The main attraction to Blois is its fantastic Chateau, which used to be the residence of the Dukes of Orleans. It sits a top of the town over looking it. It has a beautiful esplanade and courtyard behind it and the whole Chateau has a long and bloody history.
The actual town is not fantastic but just outside the town is stunning French countryside typical of the beauty of the Loire Valley. There are many different areas to visit in the area such as the Foret de Blois, Parc de Chombard and Foret de Boulogne.
The town of Blois is not a hot bed of tourism but is perfect blend of urban and rural and is the perfect place to get away from the hustle of the major cities of the country.
