France Ile de France

A Guide to Boulogne-billancourt

The Port of Boulogne is one of the most important fishing ports in the country and is continually growing. Though within a stones throw from Calais it is a much prettier town than the main Channel port. Indeed it is just 20 minutes down the A16 from Calais, and has more of a French ambience to it than the more industrial Calais.

Boulogne is the main fishing port in France. Although there is no ferry sailings across the Channel from the port the fact that it has a more native French feel to it than the international Calais. The town has fantastic architecture and perfect for a quaint town situated on the picturesque north coast of France. The surrounding area is stunning and perfect for going on long walks and the perfect place to come and get away from the busy bustling and humdrum of Paris.
