Belluno is located at the entrance to the Dolomites, it is protected from the South by the Pre-Alps and from the North by the Dolomite slopes of the Schiara. Belluno has a stunning panoramic landscape. The name Belluno translates as the "Shining City". The symbol of Belluno is a monolithic spire called Gusela del Vescova, Ago del Vescovo, a rock formation that’s more than forty metres high.
Belluno was nominated 'Alpine City of the Year' in 1999, it is the city of the National Nature Reserve of the Bellunesi Dolomites. Belluno offers first class snow sports, it is also a rtown that enables relaxation in the tranquil air. Nevegal is the perfect destination for Ski enthusiasts.
The Belluno economy is dependent on agricultural and sheep industries and the artistic professions.
There are numerous excursions to go including discovering the old mines of the Val Imperina, the Pathway of the Carbonai, the Ardo River Park, the Consiglio, the Val del Mis, the Vajoint and the Longarone, the fountains of Nogaré, San Gottardo and Cantaden.
