A Guide to Sesto Al Reghena
This is a town of ancient origins and is located between Concordia and Norico. The name derives from ‘Sesto’ or the ‘sixth’milestone, and from the River Reghena that passes through its heart.
The sites of interest include the Sesto Al Reghena Abbey which can be reached after crossing a stream, the Basilica of Sesto, Villa Freschi, the Venchieredo Fountain, the All Saints Church of Bagnarola, and the small Church of St Pietro. The surrounding area is particularly delightful and will please any nature lover with a range of trails that can be followed on excursions.
The local delicacies must also be sampled as they include the famous dishes of 'Pungitopo Conditi' 'Sugo di Spugnole', 'Risostto con Sclupitin', Duck with 'Pira', Rabbit, and 'Bussolà'
