Italy Amalfi Coast

A Guide to Erchie

Furore is a hillside town hidden away off the road along the Amalfi Coast. Its unusual urban structure consists of terraces of houses being carved into the rock face. It has a remarkable appearance with a labyrinth of passage ways and winding streets with a complete absence of open spaces.

This has led to the villages past forming close connections with the cinema world. The extraordinary setting of the village has made it a popular set for films including "Il Miracolo", "Paisà", "La Macchina Ammazzacattivi", and "Viaggio in Italia" which has brought names such as Federico Fellini, Roberto Rossellini and Anna Magnani to Furore.
