The Gran Hotel Son Net is a boutique hotel set in a restored 17th century finca at the foot of Galatzó Mountain, overlooking Puigpunyent village below. The 24 guestrooms have large windows and are individually decorated with carved wooden furniture, plush linen, heavy drapes and designer bedside lamps. All feature air conditioning, complimentary newspapers, DVD players, satellite television, wireless Internet, minibars and large marble bathrooms with telephones, slippers, bathrobes, and under floor heating.
Guests can indulge in beauty treatments and massages at the hotel's beauty centre, and active types can work out in the gym. The 30 metre swimming pool is surrounded by trees and rosebushes and is open throughout the summer months. Poolside cabanas offer shade from the sun, and guests can sip tropical milkshakes from the poolside bar while admiring the views down the valley. The citrus orchards provide a scenic location for afternoon strolls, and guests can also visit the property's restored 17th century chapel. Restaurant L'Orangerie is home to Son Net's 100 year old olive press, and serves Mallorcan dishes inside and al fresco in the courtyard with views over the garden and valley. El Gazebo Restaurant serves lunch in the garden during summer, and the plushly decorated Bar Son Net offers a lounge setting for relaxing with cocktails and music. The hotel's private tour guide can organise bespoke sightseeing trips around Mallorca, and there is a wireless Internet facility for those who want to arrange their own outings. Puigpunyent Village is about 500 metres from the hotel and Palma is approximately 12 kilometres away. Golf enthusiasts can make the most of the hotel's proximity to five of Mallorca's best golf courses (all within eight kilometres), and nature lovers can explore Galatzó Mountain and the Puigpunyent Village on foot or by bicycle. Palma de Mallorca Airport is approximately 15 kilometres from the hotel, with a driving time of around 25 minutes.
