Newly refurbished and modernized, the Hesperia Balneario de Guitiriz occupies an early 20th century spa resort surrounded by forest in verdant Galicia, 40 kilometres from Lugo. Minimal contemporary decor in clean whites and neutrals compliments pale wood furniture in the guestrooms, all of which offer climate control, satellite television, direct dial telephones, minibars and Internet connections.
The hotel incorporates a health spa located in a modern building in the grounds; guests can swim lengths in the indoor pool, work out in the fully equipped gym, ease aching muscles in the sauna and steam room and indulge in a range of thermal treatments. There is also a separate pool for children. Those preferring to exercise outdoors can make use of the tennis and paddle courts, play a round of golf on the nine hole course and jog, cycle or simply stroll through the private forest. Conference and meeting rooms are available for business use and the front desk is open round the clock. Guests arriving by car can make use of free on site parking. The hotel is within 45 kilometres of the sandy beaches of the unspoilt Galician coastline and 55 kilometres from the city of La Coruna. La Coruna Airport is 50 kilometres and about a 30 minute drive from the hotel. A bus service runs between the airport and La Coruna city centre. From there, buses and trains run to Lugo. A taxi will cost around 48 EUR.
