A Guide to San Luis Potosi
Largely known as the City of Seven Neighbourhoods, San Luis Potosi is located 118 miles from Zacatecas. Like the many towns and cities in this area the buildings are predominantly in the baroque and the neoclassical styles. There are many cultural attractions like the Federico Silva Museum, which has the first ever Latin American contemporary sculpture exhibit.
Just outside the town there is the half moon lagoon, which is perfect for lovely days out, and many activities like scuba diving, swimming, camping and eco tours. There is also the abyss Sotano de las Golondrinas which drops 1,690 feet and the caves in the surrounding area like the Sotano de las Gaugaus which has one of the largest cave ceilings in the world.
And for all those who love a good scare the ghost town is one not to be missed. It is Real de Catorce, which is an old mining village with lots of magic and myths surrounding it. The cuisine in the area is fantastic with many regional dishes and restaurants to choose from as well as a wide range of bars and clubs to keep the nightlife young and vibrant.
There are many hotels with swimming resorts as well to make San Luis Potosi a place you will never forget.
