A Guide to Veracruz

Veracruz can be found on the east coast 242 miles from Mexico City and has an annual average temperature of approximately 25°C. The beaches in the area are fantastic for all sorts of water sports like fishing and diving. When having a break from surfing or skiing then you should go down to the San de Ulua Fort, which has been built on the sea and displays the history of the towns port all the way back to before the Spanish times all the way up to the present day.

There is also the salt-water aquarium, which is definitely worth a visit. Don’t forget to look through the gift shops on the boardwalk. Just outside the city is the town of La Antigua which hosts the first Christian building in Mexico, which is a huge historical site.

Also not far away in the national park there is the highest volcano in the country. The town is famous for its nightlife with a love for music and dancing and the whole town gets excited about the carnival occurring annually. Also at night in the centres people can enjoy the wonderful music of harps and mariambas.
