A Guide to Mexico City

Mexico City is the oldest city on the continent; the weather is wonderful and has a warm temperature of approximately 22°C. There are two areas of the city that have been declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Centro Historico and the Xochimilco Ecological Park.

In the Centro Historico there are some stunning buildings such as the Cathedral and many Palaces with beautiful murals. These buildings have a blend of art nouveau and art deco. In the Xochimilco Ecological Park has a different beauty it has natural beauty and hires tours to go down the river. To the south there are two volcanoes Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl, which though are active they are visually stunning

The city offers a wide range of museums, which give a fascinating insight into the history, and culture of the city and the country. The Museo Nacional de Arte is especially good showing the history of the nations art. Another main tourist attraction is the Basilica Guadalupe which is one of famous and most visited Basilicas in the world second only to St Peters in Rome.

There are some fantastic shops in the city, which sell many of the arts and crafts of the country, as well as shops keeping up with the latest trends. There are some fantastic hotels and restaurants, though the prices are a little bit more expensive than around the country they are still very reasonable and serve a whole range of cuisines catered for any need.

The nightlife is also fantastic and is one of the best in the country and is alive all night every night for those who like to party. The capital is one of the most beautiful cities in the country and has wonderful architecture, delicious food and fantastic nightlife to make a must visit on any trip to the country.
