A Guide to Valle d'Aosta
Valle d'Aosta is a dazzling picturesque mountainous area nestled in the Alps. It is enclosed by the towering, impressive mountains of Monte Bianco, the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa and the Gran Paradiso. A stunning National Park surrounds the Gran Pariso making it very popular for those looking for rare breeds of animals, which include the eagle, chamois and ibex.
Melting glaciers create creeping streams which trickle through the valleys into the Dora Baltea. High up in the mountains one finds large pasturelands which give way to distinctive Alpine pine forests further below. Small lakes sparkle in their panoramic mountainous settings.
