A Guide to Senigallia
Senigallia is one of the coastal towns of the Marche region and is located north of Ancona. The city originated in Roman times and the centre has maintained its old charms being circled by the protective fifteenth century walls. The famous fair of Senigallia demonstrates its deeply traditional nature as the fair dates back to the 1200’s.
The stunning waterfront has sandy beaches that stretch for 12 kilometers and the harbor that has space for over 300 boats. To appreciate the historic and artistic contribution of Senigallia the following sites are a few of the main attractions: Rocca Roveresca, The Media Museum within Palazzo Mastai Ferretti, Palazzo del Duca, the Fontana dei Leoni fountain, Palazzetto Baviera and the Foro Annonario.
There are other attractions which must be seen while in the area such as Palazzo di Muzio Oddi and the Clock tower, Neptune's fountain, Palazzo Mastai, the Church of St Martino, the Church of the Madonna Senigallia Cathedral. Excursions to nearby sites may include the Church of St Maria delle Grazie with a painting by Perugino, and the Archeological park of Suasa Senonum
