A Guide to Recanti

Not far away from the seaside resort of Porto Recanti you find the medieval town of Recanti. Much of the cultural importance of the town is based around Giacomo Leopardi: the famous poet that was born in Recanti. There is much to offer in tribute of Leopardi within Recardi.

The Piazza and palace that are named after him along with Leopardian Museum and the National Center for Leopardian Studies. As well as Porto Recanti being easily accessible the Archeological Park of Santa Maria at Potenza is another site that is ideal to visit just outside of the medieval town.

Other sites with the town include Tower del Borgo, Palazzo Comunale, the Beniamino Gigli Art Museum, the Church of St Domenico and the Diocesan Museum.
