A Guide to Pesaro
Pesaro is among the coastal towns of the Adriatic Sea, located north of Ancona. Its history extends back to the Romans when it was founded along the ancient road, the Via Flaminia. Being the birth place of the musician Gioacchino Rossigni adds to the fame of the city today. The musician is celebrated in the Rossigni Opera Festival.
The town’s beaches and harbor are ideal for both explorations and relaxation. There is a great production of traditional crafts here and an abundance of sites that include the following: the Fountain with Sea Horses and Triton, Palazzo Ducale, the Church of St Ubaldo, Giocchino Rossigni's House, Pesaro Cathedral, the Rocca Costanza, the Gioacchino Rossigni Conservatory, the Ceramics Museum, the Oliveriano Archeological Museum, and the Museum of the Sea. The Villa Imperiale, located near to Pesaro, is worth visiting for its outstanding beauty.
