A Guide to Monti Sibillini

This central region of Italy includes the Sibillini Mountains National Nature Reserve as well as numerous picturesque towns including Amandola, Arquata del Tronto, Montefortino, Montegallo, Montemonaco, Acquacanina, Bolognola, Cessapalombo, Piastra, Pievebovigliana, San Ginesio, Castelsantangelo sul Nera, Ussita, Visso, Norcia and Preci.

There is a rich cuisine in this area including the famous truffles which can be fully appreciated at the Black truffle and White truffle fair. Other delicacies include corn bread, ciavuscolo, liver, Monti Sibillini sheep's cheese, Castelluccio lentils, Monti Sibillini Apples, and MistrĂ  Liqueur.

The traditional events that are held the area are: the Italian University Triathlon Championship, the International Theatre Festival, the Historical Parade and Knights tournament.
