A Guide to Civitanova Marche

Civitanova Marche is a seaside town, found on the Adriatic coast just south of Ancona. The sands and pebble beaches make it a popular destination as well as the flaring traditional business of shoe manufacturing and fishing. The centre of the town is well preserved, dating from the middle ages and encircled by 15th century walls.

Sites of interest include the Modern Art Gallery, the St Marone Sanctuary which is built on the site where St Piceno was martyred and the Abbey of St Maria with Frescos by Andrea da Bologna.
