A Guide to Lake Como

Lake Como is situated in the North of Italy, a short distance from Milan, it is one of the most famous Italian Lakes destinations. Lake Como is 50 km long , very slender and extremely deep. The southern end forks into two long 'legs', with the picturesque village of Bellagio situated on the ridge in-between. Lake Como is the perfect destination to admire tranquil blue waters whilst relaxing in luxurious villas in the wooded lakeside surroundings.

Today, most of the towns around the shores of Lake Como are popular with tourists, walkers, cyclists and swimmers.Lake Como covers a relatively small area but has a rich and varied landscape, which one cannot find elsewhere in Italy. The Pre-Alps surround Lake Como, it’s beautiful location has made it a very popular destination in history for Royals and Artists.

The towns which overlook the lakeside are made with local stone, the buildings which rise up over the lakeside range from 18th century villas, luxurious parks and small clusters of houses. Towns of the Brianza area are known for the production of wicker furniture, including Cantù which is known as the ‘furniture city’.
