A Guide to Savona

Savona is one of the larger towns in Liguria and is located west of Genova. The immaculate beaches and clear waters have led to Savona being rewarded with the well deserved Blue Flag. Some of the most stunning beaches are Natarella Beach, Fornaci beach and Vecchia Darsena.

The local cuisine adds to Savona’s popularity with some exquisite dishes to be found on the menus such as la Panizza, Ravioli, White bait fritters, Stockfish Buridda, and il Chinotto di Savona. The wines of Savona also live up to the foods reputation with Bozzetto, Pigato and Lumassina being among the finest.

The town’s festivities include the Navitalia, Sportsman of the Year, Darsena Jazz Festival, Miller Music Tour, Luci sullAcqua, Arcobaleno Chorus, Summer Carnival, National Gala of the Italian Red Cross and the Good Friday Procession.
