A Guide to Nantes

Nantes used to be the capital of Brittany, it is an area which has a lot of history and much of its medieval town has disappeared though, what is left is centred around the Cathedral. There is also the chateau, which stands out in the southeast corner.

There is also the more graceful 19th Century part of the city in more situated in the west of the city. The two parts are worth a visit if you though most of Nantes wealth has dried up along with five of the seven strands around the city.

Nantes is a tidy city, which is worth a visit only if you are in the area. It is a perfect place to stop for lunch and have an afternoon of exploration.
